Surazh
Founded in 1563 by the Vitebsk voivode Stefan Zbarazhsky on the place of the Sapieha estate Drzheveliki. It was located on a high hill at the confluence of the river Kasplia to the Western Dvina. During the Livonian War, Surazh remained one of the strongholds of the Grand Duchy of Lithuania in the region.
