Krichev

The fortress was first mentioned in 1136. In 1359 it was included in the Grand Duchy of Lithuania. The strongholds Krichev and Dubrovna were the front line of defense against Russia during the so-called "border wars" of the late 15th - early 16th centuries. The city passed from hand to hand, but in the end remained in the Grand Duchy of Lithuania. During the confrontation between Russia and the Grand Duchy of Lithuania, the Commonwealth in the second half of the 16th century Krichev has participated in different battless. Today it is located in the Mogilev region of the Republic of Belarus.
