Villona
Hill Vilyuona (Voliuona 55.081446, 23.281403). At this place in 1291-1367 was a Lithuanian castle, which was attacked by the crusaders several times (in 1348, 1363, 1367 it was burnt down).Important diplomatic negotiations were held here between the embassy of King Jagiello of Poland, Grand Duke Vitovt of Lithuania and representatives of the German Order in the first half of the 15th century. Viliuona hill was considered the place of death and burial of the famous Lithuanian prince Gediminas (1316-1341), the founder of the Gediminovich dynasty. In the 19th century here was founded the monument "at the grave of Gediminas".
